Founder and CEO Julie MacLean is driven by a love for her chocolate! Although she is showing her wares of at events attended by some important so-and-so from the White House before heading up to the Cape for our event, we will not hold her success against her. She has honestly developed a really superior product using some patented process that gives this stuff an exquisite taste and such a smooth texture! There are apparently very few chocolatiers in the US that actually roast and then grind the cacao beans into the "highly coveted" chocolate liquor. This can then be transformed into bulk slabs sold at wholesale, or made into bars or confections for consumers so keep an eye out for their logo at stores near you... hint, hint. These guys are clearly culinary experts and the organic and fair trade things go a long way in today's world. "Sibu Sura" comes from a creation myth of the northern Andes that speaks of the crucial role that cacao plays in restoring the balance of nature and the origins of life. The selection of Sibu Sura as a brand identity honors where chocolate begins, and the value of chocolate as it has been woven through the history of cultures and countries.
